Privacy policy

In short
LANcelot runs on the teacher's PC. Pupils connect to that PC over the classroom network. There are no accounts, no LANcelot cloud and no advertising.
The maker of LANcelot (Jorn Duthoo) receives no data about teachers or pupils through the app. The app collects no usage statistics and sends no telemetry.
What the app stores, on the teacher's PC
The class list (first names or whatever the teacher types, the year group and the level per subject), the log with answers per pupil, game results, notes, the Class Island and the teacher's own posters.
Everything is kept in one folder on that PC (in the Microsoft Store version: %LOCALAPPDATA%\LANcelot). The school is responsible for this data; the teacher manages it and can view it, download it as a backup or delete it at any time.
What goes to the internet
AI help (only if the teacher sets it up with their own key): the topic, wishes and lesson material the teacher adds are sent to the chosen provider (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude or OpenAI ChatGPT), under that provider's terms. Pupils' names and results are never included.
My lesson folder (only if the teacher links it): quizzes, worksheets, tasks and, from the class list, only names and levels go to the teacher's OneDrive or Google Drive. Never the log or the results.
Microsoft Store: Windows checks the licence with Microsoft (trial month or bought) and installs updates. Nothing about pupils is included.
Read-aloud uses the browser's voice. Some browser voices work online; the text being read then goes to the browser's maker.
On pupils' devices
A pupil's browser only stores a random player code, the chosen name, their knight and small preferences (such as sound on or off), to continue after a reload. There are no third-party cookies and no tracking.
Children
LANcelot is made for use in the classroom, led by the teacher. Pupils do not create accounts, see no advertising and cannot buy anything.
Keeping and deleting
Data stays on the PC until the teacher deletes it. Removing LANcelot deliberately keeps the data folder (so nothing is lost when reinstalling); delete that folder to erase everything. Parents and pupils can ask the school what is stored.
This website
lancelot.network uses no cookies and no tracking. A YouTube video only loads when you click it (youtube-nocookie.com). The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps technical logs to run the site securely.
